Hi everyone hope all is well my dad has good pastures syndrome an autoimmune that attacks the kidney and lungs which has caused kidney failure he has been in the high dependency unit for 4 weeks the anti body numbers are coming down but he is still needing oxygen and has fluid on the lungs and it was only the other day when he required high flow oxygen more than standard they said it would take a while for recovery and we expected him to be closely monitored however another doctor has now decided that he is fit enough to be transferred to a ward when his oxygen dropped only days before. He has low Hb levels and low platelets as they had to treat him with chemotherapy to stop the anti body attack on his lungs which caused him to cough up blood after the chemo the coughing up blood has calmed down however we are all really worried that he is being moved to soon as if his oxygen level drops and he needs to be placed back on high flow oxygen then because he is being moved to a normal ward they won't be able to act quickly and he won't be able to breathe I have expressed this to all staff however they are going ahead regardless I just wanted to know if anyone has any advice about what we can do going forward and who we speak to about our concerns when a senior consultant is not listening so any information would be greatly appreciated I pray my dad makes it through this 🙏 without any further issues arising due to his rapid move transfer many thanks to anyone who has taken the time to read this post and anyone who can offer any advice 😇

you can ask for a second opinion or talk to PALS - are you U.K. based?
