My husband is doing good and he gets an infection, it keeps happening! Right now he has a fungal infection and low hemoglobin that they are treating. He is so tired and weak! Last Monday he had a low blood pressure problem!
Will this ever end? He still needs to get off ventilator and work on his muscles, but he is too weak! Dyalisis line keeps getting infection too! Anyone been through this?

Unfortunately getting infections in ICU seems to be the norm. I was constantly getting infections including fungal. On top of that I had pneumonia & sepsis. I was given blood transfusions & loads of drugs. Small step forward big steps back it’s so exhausting
Yes @lynnmarr and after I woke up. I got to about 5th week awake, after 8 in a coma, another infection - probably glandular fever, I wondered to myself if I had enough inner resource to fight another affection - ultimately, I did.
Yes several infections and 2 blood transfusions, low haemoglobin I was told is quite common in ITU . It's so draining isn't , you think he has turned that corner then bam something else . x
Yes my brother also went through a series of infections and setbacks. It does tend to happen and it is distressing for you and your husband but hopefully he will continue to improve. Keeping a time line of the positives to look back on when you have bad days is important.
