What now!

My poor dad is back on a high vent after catching yet another infection, they've said it's another pnemonia caused by the vent! He also need a litre of blood and more medication. He's also being proned every night considering he's only ever needed it once 1 night 21 days ago and now it's every night! I was confused as to why he needed blood. It was a nurse I spoke to and she was really busy as I understand but left me and my family worrying.

I think there was a time when I was having blood taken every hour and various ruptures around the place meant I was losing a bit of blood. If you imagine that your body isn’t replenishing itself very well - I needed a bit of a top up 😀

My dad had to have blood a lot during his time in ICU and I wasn’t sure why . His kidneys failed and he was on dialysis after the first week and I thought maybe that had something to do with needing blood . Xx
