ICU Covid survivor: Has anyone had severe breathlessness and chest pains occur 2-3 days after 1st dose of Pfizer vaccine? Or any symptoms that distressed you?
This was not an allergic reaction and may just be coincidence but it scared me as oxygen levels fell as low as 80% and took a few minutes ti increase again, this went on for 3 days.

My husband is a Covid icu survivor from last April. Had the Astra vaccine last Friday and has had fever and aches and feeling horrendous since he had it. Coughing and wheezing too. And the arm where he had the injection has swelled up red and angry. We showed the nurse at the GP practice today as his arm was so painful. Feels like Covid all over again. The nurse said Covid survivors are having a strong reaction.
Thank you for replying thankfully improved after about 10 days post vaccine and Oxygen levels risen I have looked on the internet with many reports of post Covid patients reactions to this so a bit concerned about having 2nd dose.
That was one of my major concerns with my dad who spent 3 months in hospital back in April due to covid, so I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve had such a horrible reaction My dad had the AstraZeneca vaccine last Saturday and thankfully had only very mild and common side effects such as redness and a little swelling in his arm with slight shivers the following day. Take care xx
I’ve been assured that a strong response is a sign the body”s immune system recognises the ‘virus’ and is mounting a response - a good thing. The body raises its temperature to try and kill virus as opposed to the virus causing a temperature per se.
