RELAXATION

We recently held a one-off Relaxation workshop with Jo Ruffel, one of our trainers. You can read more about Jo on our Exercise page. This was aimed at former patients AND relatives, plus ICU staff.

Jo talked about the benefits of body awareness, breathing and relaxation. There were breathing exercises and gentle movements that relieved tension and promoted good posture. Jo also explained how and why things get tight and ways to relieve that. The session starts sitting and then for the relaxation practice, for those that can, moves to the floor or if the floor would not be appropriate, a comfortable chair/sofa/bed so that everyone can participate.

The session focuses on breath techniques and 5 key exercises to keep doing.
