Another Covid patient not waking up from induced coma

Apparently this Canadian actor called Nick Cordero who is not even old at all is having issues to come back from his induced coma. Just wanted to share with you guys because I know many of us are facing the same... Doctors don't have answers for this phenomenon yet. So we are just hoping sedation is taking its time to go away from patients systems... Praying Covid hasn't affected the neurological system of our loved ones...

Hi Marcita,

I have been following your posts for a few days because my father is also in the same situation. He is 71 years old, has been intubated for two weeks, has stopped sedation since March 17th and still hasn't woken up. A neurosurgeon from the hospital spoke to us on the phone today and told us that many patients are taking so long to wake up and it seems that covid creates this slowness in waking up for some reason, but that there have been no cases of non-awakening, I mean, there are people who are still sleeping, but those who wake up so late do not have new neurological damage, they only take time. So it seems that it is normal. I hug you tight because I know everything you are going through and I send all my love to you and the whole family

Forgive me, I wrote wrong, I meant that they stopped the sedation from April 17th, not from May 17th, sorry again

Thank you. Our doctors are still learning about Covid so they couldn't really provide us with some answers. All I do is cry. Hope our parents wake up soon ⚘

I am Italian, so here they have been managing and studying this situation for some time longer maybe, however do not despair, because this slow awakening really seems to be normal. The doctor who spoke with us today is the neurosurgeon who is following the covid cases there, and she just confirmed this general slowness in waking up and without neurological damage developing in the meantime.

(Unless one has neurological or other type of damage before, I mean, unless tests revealed any previous neurological damage during previous days, but this is a different case from the one of your mother, as far as I understood. It's a matter of time)

I send you a big hug from here!
