Larger stent placed over closed stent

I had a heart attack - stent @ widowmaker. The stent close up a few months after my heart attack .

Dr. That discovered stent had closed during another heart cath. Did nothing to fix.

Then they did another heart cath& I was told that they had put a larger stent over the closed stent ..can that be true ?can that really been done? Haven’t read that anybody else has had this procedure done..

Does anybody know the answer?

I know it can’t be removed but.. 🤔
