So there’s no wonder my dad has pneumonia.. I need to work out what I should do next. I’ve been desperate to leave this flat for years, there is no support my dad is also paranoid schizophrenic and I care for him full time but he can’t come home to this. I’m replacing mattress pillow all bedding every month!

I have found Citizens Advice really helpful - they are independent. Why not contact your local MP. The hospital also assess suitability of living conditions - I think their blanket term was Occupational Therapy or Occupational Health - speak to them & show them yours concerns- is this a private landlord? Why not send your story to the consumer watchdog bodies too - Citizens Advice would point you in right direction.
