I need information please

My cousin has been in a medically induced coma for 3 days now. They were supposed to stop the meds that are keeping her asleep this morning to see what happens but as of now we're still waiting. I'm wondering if anyone has been through this and what was it like?

I was in a coma for 57 days, it took 11 days to wake up ( still groggy). It was hell for my family & hell for me. I had no idea what had gone on, where I was or how long I had been wherever I was - even though they kept telling me, I didn’t believe them. Keep speaking to your cousin and reassure them that they are ok

My mom was put in an induced coma this past April. They stopped the meds after 2 days, but it took her 5 days to wake up somewhat, 8 fully.

Those are powerful medicines and it takes a long time for some people, especially someone who might not have taken much medicine, or drank much previously.

Be patient, talk to her, play her music she likes and massage her arms and legs, and she will slowly come out of it.

All the best!

My husband was also Intubated for 10 days in ICU, they tried to wake him after 8 days but he could not handle it, he became very stressed. They tried again two days later with success. I am sure they will re assess the situation again and let you know. I wish the best for you.
