Dad was asleep for most of our time with him yesterday,he looked like he was in a bad mood ,was a shame considering he was smiling and had his eyes open a lot the day before . I wonder if anything is going threw his mind
Bless him x

He probably just wore himself out being awake the day before - my dad was like that the second day out of his coma. They asked my mum yesterday if he was deaf at all - which surprised me as he was turning his head and trying to look at all the strange noises and voices over the weekend. Think he has started being awkward and having selective hearing when they are asking him to do things he doesn't want to do!!!!!! Like you I do wonder what is going through their minds - it must be so strange for them. x
Yes it's a strange place being by the bedside chatting to no response back 😞
Hi physio put him slummed in a wheel chair yesterday he looked terrible uncomfortable and his head dropped forwards not a good site to arrive to yesterday but once he was back in his bed his eyes were open and following voices around the room , he seemed more aware but not sure he knows who we are he seems confused angry and frustrated he can't talk and was trying to , it's a great step being as they wrote him off with the brain damage chat , we feel positive bit scared
My mum said my dad is struggling off the ventilator - I haven't been since Saturday - trying to juggle visiting, job and three kids!!!!!!! I think I feel worse when I'm not there though as mum doesn't ask any questions and just relays back horror stories!! It sounds like he is much the same as your dad though, looking confused and sometimes quite blank but alert to the sound of voices so its positive to hear that that seems quite normal. Hopefully they are going in the right direction - just very slowly x
When I was coming out of my coma I was in a world of strange vivid dreams that merged with the 'real' world. I couldn't distinguish them. This is probably the world your dad's in and may explain strange moods and behaviour. Give him time, it took me some before I was fully aware of my situation. x
Hi. My Mums sedatives were stopped on Fri and she woke on Sat. She can nod, lick her lips and blink but nothing else. She does look at you but we have worked out her eyes go to voices. She can't actually see. We did the fingers up to eye test and she didn't even blink. I asked her can she see clearly and she didn't nod Wonder if loss of vision is common after coming out of coma?
I will add that my mum has shown no improvement since sat. No more movement. She is tiny and so so weak though. They have stopped vent today and letting nature take its course. Mum had nodded consent. Shes still hanging on at the mo but breathing is laboured. They are just keeping her comfortable now is she deteriorates. My mum has an array of other health problems with every organ including COPD with her lungs. It's this or keep her on machines for the rest of her life in a nursing home completely bed bound.
Iwas aware of my visitors and who they were however everything I said was complete and utter rubbish and not relevant to my surroundings or my visitors.
