My aunts lungs are failing. She is not expected to survive. 2 months max. They are talking Intubation. I think Tracheostomy will be easier?

Without knowing the full circumstances of your aunt, I think you need to go with what the healthcare professionals are telling you. Have you, or your aunt's next of kin, spoken to the nurses and doctors caring for you aunt? That would be the first thing that should be done.

Don't give up hope, I was in ICU just over 2 years ago with double pneumonia, sepsis and multiple organ failure, given a less than 10% chance of survival and had a DNR put on me, I was intubated for 19 days and then had a tracheotomy for a further 62 days in that time I also had ARDS, in all that time the doctors never gave up hope in saving my life, I'm sure they will do all they can for your aunt but do speak to them as they are the professionals and usually give you as much information and support as they can.

New yrs eve 2010 my husband was given back my wedding ring being told you're wife wont need this where she's going and that I had zero chance of survival. Im still here. The human body and spirit is incredible so your aunt may survive. I had swine flu, pneumonia, ards and i a ventilator aquired infection. In icu for seven weeks in a medically induced coma for five of those then totally unresponsive for a week when they thought i was massively brain damaged. Apart from short term memory loss and pulmonary fibrosis i made a good recovery. Dont give up hope.
