Did a blood thinner (not aspirin) help your brain with memory, thinking, sluggishness, reading comprehension or with processing things?

Heparin has helped enormously with the severe hesdaches, I was having 3-4 a week and am now down to maybe average of one a month now. In terms of memory, thinking etc, I am still having some problems with this but I have seen an improvement. I still have problems with my concentration but I do feel the on-going "brain fog" is better. Not sure if this helps you or not!

When I was first diagnosed and put on Warfarin my migraines stopped completely and many of my other symptoms were consderably reduced, memory, speach sluggishness etc.

However, I started to ge a recurrance of these, to a degree, after 7 yeasrs and also started to get 'funny turns' caused by inner ear ischemic problems. I am now on fragmin and find that I can fucntion very much better and, although I still get 'funny turns' they are less severe and the other, brain fug and memory problems are negligable.

Best wishes.

Yes, all these improved after I was put on warfarin. And those scary, spider web by leisons on my MRI scan? Within a year all but 1 were gone - and that one was much smaller.

Yes, going on Warfarin significantly helped me with the symtopms I had. I used to get "lights" in my eyes and couldn't think very well. Every once in a while, when my blood gets too thick, I re-experience the visual disturbances. When I do, I take my Warfarin dose right away and within a short while, the symptoms resolve. There is no question that the drug has helped me for the past fifteen plus years.

Yes like a big improvement, not perfect but fog definitely better, memory still not great but I think a lot of damage was because treatment wasn't given soon enough
