Conception difficulties?

Has anyone had problems with getting pregnant. It takes years for me to get pregnant and I also have had 3 miscarriages. Can't seem to get anyone to consider my APS as reason for conception difficulties .

Hi, my problems were all pre-diagnosis - but I had 2 successful pregnancies, followed by 7 miscarriages and then I didn't conceive again - BUT and the big BUT is, I was not diagnosed at that time. Take the positive that I did not only conceive but managed to carry 2 full term babies - my sons are now 30 and 27! - please keep positive and question your doctors again :-)

I did not have any problems getting pregnant but had problems getting a successful pregnancy. I finally had a successful one after 7 losses between 8 and 16 weeks. My daughter is now 3 years old and I was able to bring her to almost term with the help of several specialists.

Some women find that aspirin helps with implantation and some find it hinders it so that might be one avenue worth pursuing. Also some women need to be on the heparin whilst trying to conceive to fall pregnant.

Hi there,

Thanks for asking about this.:-)

I had difficulty conceiving and had 2 kids via ivf, no mention of aps although I had pre-eclampsia with my 2nd child.

I conceived naturally for the first time last August but miscarried at 18 weeks.

I am now trying to conceive again on aspirin but am worried about it affecting ovulation and implantation. is it OK not to take it every day?

Yes! I only had 2 miscarriages which were followed by four years of trying to get pregnant again! Because I had a known autoimmune problem, the miscarriages were linked to that as was the infertility. I was referred to the Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic at St Mary's and they were very good about the infertility side of things as well as the miscarriages - I also had polycystic ovaries which were dealt with at St Mary's (ovarian drilling). I was told NOT to take aspirin until I actually became pregnant because of possible issues with implantation. I did manage to get pregnant once more and due to their fantastic care have a wonderful daughter who is now aged 7. As you have now had three msicarriages, have you been referred to a specialist centre to conduct further investigations?
