Cholesterol and Weetabix

Just had my last cholesterol test result which had dropped to 4.7 from 5.2 GP was very pleased. The only change I have made is to change breakfast cereal to Weetabix. GP commented that it's cholesterol free and is supposed to mop up cholesterol. It may not work for everyone, but worth a try.

Hi anje

That's brilliant to hear, I have to take statins but sincerely wish I didn't, they do have quite a few side effects, but then so do lots of the meds us hughies take, my high cholesterol is familial, which is difficult to control with diet. I see a professor about mine, we have discussed at length the options for controlling cholesterol, will mention to him about this, he's always interested to hear of things that help.

Hope you feeling ok today.

Take care gentle hugs love Sheena xxxxx :-) :-) :-)

Like you I have also had porridge and Oatabix (the latter is a bit like cardboard and I sometimes think I would be better off just eating the box!!) and they have made quite a difference to my Cholesterol.

I am afraid that Banana is mainly a no no as, do to the regime of medication that I am now on, I now have diabetes/ I do mix in some broken nuts (almond and brazils) as these contain vitamins and trace elements that are good for you.
