Sad though it sounds I am really pleased my son went down to see Prof Hughes and got a positive test. Amazing as I am sero negative. He is so happy, now the docs will believe him and his mates.
How sad is it we have to pay so much to find out the truth because docs on NHS mostly won't do the same blood tests.

Well, in my experience, docs over here in the States are also often clueless and relunctant to look for something they don't want to find --much less treat.
I am glad you finally have an answer. My son has been ill also and is finally getting tested for APS next week. He is also having a endoscopic ultrasound done because he gets severe stomach and chest pains. This has been ongoing for 3 years, so I know what you mean when you are happy to have a diagnosis.
My son has had migraines over 10 years since teenage years, fatigue etc etc. He has seen numerous doc in all specialities. And the GP says he tested him for APS and it was negative, funny that prof Hughes test was positive. He also says he does tests that the NHS won't do. Why don't they realise it must be cheaper to treat APS than wait for a stroke or heart attack, which really would cost the NHS more.
