Hi there, not myself personally, but is quite common to be told this, and then later to find out it is APS... and then some people genuinely do have both! Hope this helps: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/152...

i had high anticardiopolin levels in 2007, started having grand mal seizures for 2 years, took me off asprin in 2010, then started having complex partial seizures till may 2012. not told after blood test in march 2012 that anticardiopolin level was over 120, end of may 2012 had ischemic finger and chest pain, put on warfarin managing to keep inr 2-3 not had seizure for last 12 weeks. have been confirmed in writing today that i have hughes syndrome.

been told for last 5 years i had epilepsy and get used to it. do i have any grounds for mis diagnosis ? feeling let down

I had night time seizures in 1990 and 1991 and am still on carbamazeine as I have been told there is still a "flare" there. High blood pressure was diagnosed in 1989 just before the seizures. I was told it was idiopathic epilepsy. Aps was not finally diagnosed until 1998, which they now think was a sympton of Aps. Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing!!

i was diagnosed with complex partial seizures in 1995 and in 2010 i was diagnosed with aps after having 3 pulmonary embolisms

After having a stroke at age 26 I started having petit mal seizures. Not sure now if it was the stroke or aps. Carbamazapine (Tegretol) does the trick. I was diagnosed a couple of years before that after four miscarriages and five dvt's.

I was diagnosed with APS first 6 yrs ago, then 2 yrs ago I had a seizure, only the one that lasted 4.5 hrs, I ended up being intubated and was a in a Coma for a week and on life support, I had a minor stroke while this was happening as well. I was then diagnosed as Epileptic, I have never had another seizure although I have been on Epilepsy medication since that episode. I don't belive I am epileptic as I had never had any siezures prior to that either,
