Hello Brychni,
I think it’s important to remember that what you most likely have is most likely “mixed connective tissue disease”.
If it’s undifferentiated, it means it hasn’t fully differentiated, or “shown itself” yet. Sometimes some diseases stay at many and simmer just under the threshold popping up to full expression, or fully differentiated. ( hydroxychloroquine actually helps halt the disease progression connective tissue diseases bu up to 10 years my rheumatologist tells me- so very important to have a rheumatologist to understands the large picture and how to convey to you. )
You many have a mix of both. It sounds to me like your RA is fully differentiated. In other words you have tested positive, have all the symptoms.
You may have other AI diseases that are suspected, but are it this point undifferentiated. They may always stay that way, or not.
As we say here , ( because we are told this by our experts) auto immune diseases like to cluster together.
So to address your specific question regarding APS and migraines, that can happen, yes.
Many women here may choose not to have children, or be infertile, but have migraines and APS. ( don’t forget, men have APS! )
Also, it’s a “spectrum” syndrome. There are other indicators other than miscarriage that are just as important. Migraines should not be considered insignificant, nor should your positive tests.
HI, I have Hughes Syndrome/APS and many other diseases, I have not had miscarriages, but partly because I was so proactive with my first pregnancy having watched what happened to my other family members, I had clots diagnosed very early on and was put on Fragmin and then for every pregnancy after. Thyroid and B12 issues can also add to the picture with miscarriages, both of these things effect the circulation. It is important that you have a specialist who can listen to you, do write out your medical and family history in bullet points, it will all help with the general picture of your disease profile. I haven’t had any miscarriages but get migraines
I’m into my third week of a migraine. Nothing has helped yet but I should get to speak to my specialist soon.I’m older so way past the pregnancy stage.
I have primary APS, which was diagnosed after a DVT and PE. I had migraines since my late teens, but haven't had one since I started warfarin therapy. So, I suspect my migraines may have been an early symptom of APS and due to micro clotting, especially as I'd never even had a headache be for suddenly getting a migraine with aura. My family has a history of migraines, so I never thought there was anything odd about suddenly getting migraines. However, I still avoid what had been migraine triggers for me, so maybe I could still get them but I've just been successful at avoiding triggers.
No miscarriages as I've never been pregnant.
