Hi, can anybody tell me what this means please? It’s in a letter from a rheumatologist.
Blood tests show no significant abnormalities apart from an antinuclear antibody titre of 1:320.
He didn’t mention this when he phoned me as he said he would after I saw him in Sep ‘19 but he doesn’t seem to agree I have APS. He wrote to Prof D’Cruz but hadn’t received a reply. I’m not taking any notice & I’m still taking Clopidogrel. If Prof D’Cruz says I have it, then I have it.

The positive ana is more of an indicator in autoimmune disorders like lupus. If you had APS, there is a specific antibody different than ana. Hope this helps
I don’t test positive for APS anymore but I saw Professor De Cruz in London and Dr Hunt and I am on Clopidogrel and will be for the foreseeable. Keep taking it!
Hi, I would carry on with what you are doing, one of my first ever results was that one showing up, I then went on to past other tests for Hughes Syndrome/APS that I was previously negative for. MaryF
My hubby had a similar report after visiting member of a recommended specialist Team. We were very disappointed and due to being on warfarin no more tests offered due to risks of coming off it to do the tests again. After a positive diagnosis in 2009 and 4 strokes we go with what was originally diagnosed as we all know there can be anomalies in readings when testing for APS. Stick with your gut.
Hi this is all new to me. I mentioned INR to the rheumatologist when he phoned and he said that was for people who take warfarin. As for ANA he didn’t mention that so it was only when I received a copy of the letter he posted to my GP that I saw it and yes, freaked me out I admit.
I’m forgetting all that and carrying on as normal.
