Has anyone found a research paper or something that would inform my Doctor or pharmacist about the importance of having the medication from Zentiva, as it is made up like the previous Placqunil

After a lot of hassle over years I have managed to get the ones from Zentiva

I realise the pharmacy is very busy at the moment, but I have been told that they are using up what they have, I have asked the Doctor to write on my prescription in the past to put from Zentiva, but that wasn’t on my prescription this time will phone tomorrow

Zentiva have no problems with their stock

Not looking forward to having side effects or falling several times a day

Hope that all makes sense

Hi, what I did when the GP surgery tried to change the make, to another brand was to get our family Rheumatologist and also Haematologist to write a letter, which I then handed to the pharmacist as well as a copy to the GP surgery doctors, this really helped ease the block on this. MaryF

My repeat prescription it does state Zentiva, even saying this last time I got a different brand, I rang the pharmacy, took back the wrong ones, got an apology and swapped to correct.

The key is to get it written correctly on the repeat prescription.

Yes ring your doctor and get it put back on the prescription correctly.

Thank you both, normally I get an apology, but I suppose they are so busy and stressed

I was spoken to as if I was a spoilt brat

The receptionist wasn’t that helpful from the surgery, I had written on my tick list about Zentiva needed to be written on the prescription when I phoned back to check the receptionist said it stated when available. I know it is available as I have phoned Zentiva,

I didn’t want to bother the Doctor but I think I will have to phone him

I know the Haematologist at st Thomas agree that a lot of people have problems with the generic brands

I will ask for a letter when I go next time thank you

I would check with whatever pharmacy you use that they do have it in stock.

I have spent an entire afternoon trying to get hold of any make there is none in the city and speaking to various pharmacies ain’t going to be available for some time.

Having worked alongside the UK pharm industry I would also be contacting the pharm wholesalers - of which there are many - to enquire about availability. Not that they will supply direct, but as another piece of info on your side when approaching local pharmacies.

I haven’t seen any papers but I found a lot of information on the Lupus uk site & wrote to them when my GP & pharmacist were being difficult. Lupus UK were really helpful.

Thank you so much everyone one, I spoke to my Gp who wrote another prescription straight away, think he must have other customers who have the same problem as you can guess

I had phoned around and found a little pharmacy who had it in stock

Numark community pharmacy

My daughter got it and delivered it to my door, now in tears as my 2 year old grandson was in the car, so near yet so far

Hoping this awful time soon ends, keep well everyone xx

I am unsure if you managed to get Zentiva but I have been trying for 4 weeks as I can only take this brand. Was told today by my pharmacist today that the wholesalers now have a flag by this and that its only available to Hospitals now due to it being used in Trials for Covid-19. My pharmacist is going to phone our local hospital and try and get this in.
