Prof Hunt has had me on daily clopidogrel, aspirin and clexane for years. She was obviously in the know!
I was and still am on clopidogrel but Dr D'Cruz told me to stop the aspirin i were taking along side of it. He said ' taking it was putting me at risk of a bleed and that it was not necessary to take along side of the clopidogrel ' so I stopped taking the aspirin. What with all the conflicting advice it is hard to know what to do for the best but I most certainly do not want to risk having a hemorrhage.
I agree that is why the caution but I have withdrawn from taking the aspirin. Due to not being able to tolerate warfarin or heparin I asked if a trial of Rivaroxaban would be an option........I were told it was not suitable for our condition !
It was Dr D'Cruz who told me so what criteria are we talking about here ? I expect he new the result of the trial it was last month that I saw him ( in the consulting room one to one ) ! I was very surprised as normally seen by a junior and he pops his head in the consulting room with lots of students trailing him. The clinic was surprisingly quite so I were called in before I had seen the nurse !
Currently trialling aspirin but I really don't get on well with it even the low dose. Wondering if clopidogrel is any better but it also seems to have a range of side effects. I don't think I'd like to take both.
