Another miscarriage

I was informed by my GP that my pregnancy hormone has gone down and I'm now having my 4th miscarriage. I am taking clexane and aspirin that was prescribed for the pregnancy but now I am confused if I should stop taking the Clexane shots so I don't bleed too much, my infertility specialist office is closed on Friday so the only answer I got about this was from my GP and he was unsure as well if I should continue the injections.

I am so sorry you are going through this and sending lots of love at this sad time. GP’s often have no idea about Hughes but he should have been able to ring a different specialist for advice. I would wait till Monday for confirmation. X

I am so sorry to hear! We had many early and two late losses so I know it is so hard to miss the little one. I also had one of my losses while on blood thinners and then was prescribed plaquenil the next time and the baby made it. Just one more idea to look into.

HI there, sorry to hear about your news, your GP needs to guide you more, or at least seek advice from a specialist, presumably there was one, who prescribed your injections? Do make sure you are tested for everything including B12, D, Iron and also your Thyroid. I hope they can help you further and please do ask friends and relatives to support you at such a difficult time. MaryF

In the olden days before being diagnosed (at last) with APS I didn't have a problem with miscarriages but I was given Progesterone injections to maintain the pregnancy as the hormone was always low in early pregnancy. I had infertility issues that, when I look back, are all part of the crazy mystery of APS. I'm so sorry for your heartbreak and I'm hoping to see a post in the future from you saying you've had a healthy baby. ((O))

Unfortunately, most people don't understand the loss you feel and the offhand comments like "you can try again" "It wasn't meant to be" don't help. This is a good place to unload with no judgment. Wishing you all the best for you future.

After a lot of confusion I ended up in the ER with pain and they took my bloods only to find my pregnancy hormone is now increasing. It is not increasing as fast as the doctors would like so I am still at risk of it not being viable but we are waiting for my hormones to get high enough for them to do another ultrasound because the first one didn't show a baby yet but it might just be too early. I am now on antibiotics for a UTI and I am hoping that was the cause of my pain and not a complication with the pregnancy itself. The doctors aren't hopeful but I am rooting for this pregnancy because it hasn't given up on me yet so I'm hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. Thank you all for your support. Also, does anyone have some tips on how to perform my clexane injections so I don't cause as much bruising? It either doesn't hurt or its excruciating and I end up with a bruise the size of a golf ball.
