Hi you don't necessarily need a Neurologist more likely a Rheumatologist to start with with a Haematologist added in, here is our list of specialists: hughes-syndrome.org/self-he...
Some people do ok with a Neurologist, some on here have had a good one who have recognized the condition, diagnosed and helped, but many have not had such luck with this branch of medicine regarding Neurology.

I have seen a rheumatologist and he wants me seen by a neurologist. Thanks
Ok, well if there is not an actual recommended one on our list, then I expect he will find you one himself, is your Rheumatologist on our list? The reason I ask, is if they have some working knowledge of the condition and are not on the list, the charity will wish to know, as it is a list which is slowly growing over time to help patients and GP's. MaryF
The rheumatologist is not a hughes specialist. He is referring me to St Thomas to see a rheumy there. In the mean time he said I should see a neurologist asap too due to ?fits and other neurological symptoms. He doesn't know of any hughes friendly neurologists which is why I ask.
Thanks
Great he is referring you to St Thomas, do send him the list of specialists, so he can ask for one of them, also send him the whole charity website. You can get the email for his secretary and write on that marked for his attention. Best of luck. MaryF
Hi there.
I was first diagnosed with APS by David Bateman, in Bath.
David is now in Sunderland:
Dr David Bateman, consultant neurologist at City Hospitals Sunderland, - See more at: brainandspine.org.uk/news/2...
I made a training video with him in Bath, about APS and Headache.
Best wishes.
Dave
Perfect! Thank you! !
