I have been told my IgG anticardiolipin antibodies are elevated at 26, my beta2glycoprotein and IgG antibodies are also elevated at 19 but DsDNA is negative. Can anyone translate this into what this means please?

Have you ever been tested for Antiphospholipid Syndrome?
I also have an appalling obstecric history having only 1 live birth from 8 pregnancies. Since the heart attack I have had a lot of chest tightness and discomfort, loads of feelings of pressure in my head and hot flushes, yet if my heart is relatively normal where are these symptoms coming from?
If you have had a positive rest result for Hughes Syndrome/APS you need to be managed by a consultant who understands the condition and the medication required. Please let me know where you are located, and who is managing your care. MaryF
Hi Mary, firstly thank you for this forum, as a newbie I am quite afraid of what this all means and I don't understand what is normal/ or abnormal about these results. I am located in Solihull, West Midlands, UK and have been passed from the cardiology department (after heart attack and angioplasty) to Consultant in Haematology, Dr Neil Smith at Heartlands Hospital who it is ordered these tests. I do not know when I will see him again yet but am due to be reviewed in a few weeks.
I am wondering what to expect from this syndrome and it already explains some of the things in my past. I am 58.
Having the diagnosis is very helpful in the first place, next understanding the condition and also have a consultant who does will greatly help you and your GP, please do have a very good look at all the information on the charity website: hughes-syndrome.org/ There are also a number of books for sale on there. Also I enclose here the list of specialists in the area: hughes-syndrome.org/self-he...
If you want a referral to one, it is not impossible to write an email to your GP and various consultants, you will need to ring up and get all the email addresses of the secretaries, then write the email to them addressing it to the doctors and consultants, include the links to the charity and in particular the list of specialists, I also usually include the list of symptoms, however you may be able to just take it along on your phone and show the GP etc.

Thank you
