Hi
I had several teeth out earlier this year. It wasnt any different than normal except i bleed for a long long time from the top one, the clot kept falling off and starting the bleeding again, in the end id to go to the emergency dentist and have it restitched. Im on clexane. I would have plenty of gauze and tissues on hand if i were you and someone to drive you home. hope this helps

Hi, you need to ring up and ask to speak to the nurse attached to this clinic or ring the secretary of the person who is doing the procedure to see if they can reassure you. The dentist is right to refer you on to another clinic due to the fact that you are on Warfarin, I think you will find this is fairly standard practice. MaryFB
Phoned them to day not having it taking out on Saturday they going to see me and let me know wots going to happen befour they do it now feel better now thanks a lot Lesley 61
I had a tooth extracted under the hospital as my dentist would not do it because of being on warfarin etc. I was told to stop my warfarin dose the night before, went to the anticoagulant clinic on my way to hospital to have a finger prick INR test, which came back under 4, i was told by the hospital dentist if it was over 4 they would not do it. I had the tooth and root extracted, no problem, they put gauze over the hole which also had a couple of stiches in. I was told to sit in the wait in the waiting area for 30 mins then they came back to check if i had stop bleeding, which it had then was allowed home. I did not have anything to eat or drink for a few hours.
Good luck

I had a wisdom tooth out 2 weeks ago. I'm on Rivaroxaban and was told to stop it for 36 hours before and start 6 hours after. I was dreading the whole thing but turned out better than I thought! Had 3 stitches and it was still bleeding a bit but stopped after about 5 hours. It was a bit painful for the first couple of days but I had antibiotic cover and good painkillers which I only used for the first day and a half. It has healed well.
I had a front tooth and bridge extracted a couple of years ago. Got down to inr my dentist wanted ( can't remember what it was) and no bleeding or need for stitches and he put a denture in my mouth straight away. I had antibiotics to prevent infection and was fine within a couple of weeks
Good luck x
