Hi Mary I have read your posts about thyroid issues with interest as im sure i fit 'the bill' but all my tests have been negative. I remember reading (at least i think i do brain fog !! ) a post you wrote that said which tests we did need but i cant find it. Is it possible to tell me again or point me in the direction of finding out thanks. Keep up the good work you and the other admin do a great job.

Hi,

My thyroid doctor is an integrative doctor and tests:

TSH

Total T3

Free T3

Free T4

Reverse T3

and there are 2 Hashimotos anti body tests they do initially. I am not sure of the exact names but you could find it on google.

Thanks.

Hi, yes you are right the TSH is pretty useless, please join Thyroid UK, you can have same user name as on here and get them to help you, but otherwise, if you click on my profile you will see previous posts in particular a newspaper article I loaded up on here about that very issue. Also their charity web pages hold very excellent information, they are the forum of choice for NHS now, and they usually come to our Patient's Day, and this year us to their's due to the overlap of the diseases: thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/diagno...
