After a recent test my inr came back at 6.88. Only change in my life was the use of codrydamol for general pain relief.

We can't give medical advice, but you need to contact your clinic for a check up and have your INR monitored for a bit many things can cause a change in the level, including diet, virus, antibiotics etc etc. Best to be safe and get it checked out please. MaryF

Like some other medications codyramol does give an enhanced effect on the INR. I have used it for 9 years and when the dose is raised my INR always increases. As long as it settles with a decrease in warfarin personally I'm ok. Winter/damp months raise pain in me, and so maximum dose of codyramol is usual for me then, my INR raises every time.

Take care,

Sue

Who monitors your INR? How often do you get your INR checked? Have you let your nurse/caregiver know about this change? What is YOUR target INR? I volunteer in an Anti-CoAg clinic in the U.S. There are so many things that can your INR to elevate. Did your caregiver change your weekly dosage and have you return quick?
