We all have had an interesting conversation about the different diets or foods that have made us feel better. What I would like to know is if anything has been studied or written about it.
Has prof Hughes ever wrote an article... - Hughes Syndrome A...
Has prof Hughes ever wrote an article or posted anything about diet affecting APS/Hughes ? Whether Good or bad.
I can't reference a specific study, but low level food allergies do damage the intestinal villa, which then do not do a very good gatekeeper job. They fail to absorb all the needed nutrients and also fail to exclude other compounds from interacting directly with the blood stream. ( called --really! I'm not making this up! " leaky gut syndrome") Which in turn over works the immune system which is then, presumably ( again I can not reference a specific study -but his makes sense) can make identification errors leading to autoimmunity and increased systemic inflammation. I'm confident that a quick google of some of these terms, leaky gut, autoimmunity, inflammation, food allergy or some combination of same will produce a nice, official, quotable source--(instead of quoting the lazy English major housewife from West Virginia!)
Hi there
Please have a look at Living with HS on the charity website: hughes-syndrome.org/self-he... - there is a section under Diet which was written with the approval of all our medical advisors including Professor Hughes.
