Hi DD,

Which meds are you on and how long have you been on them - what was your last viral load test result?

I believe the standard recommendation is to take your meds as soon as you can up to 12 hours late . After 12 hours miss the dose and resume as normal the next day .

As you are borderline time wise Google this to try and make an informed decision . Whether or not your viral load is undetectable or not may be important .

I think the general feeling is that if someone is adhering to their medication well it is not a problem if they miss the occasional dose .

Personally I would still take the medication on the 12 hour mark , but I have no medical training so don't take this as gospel !

Hi DD Modern meds have a long half life these days, meaning they stay concentrated in the system longer. If you are generally adherent to your medication the odd late dose will not cause any issues, just take as normal. If you miss a dose later than 12 hours don't "double dose" just take the next day when due.....modern meds are quite forgiving, just don't make a habit of missing doses though!

Thanks for the replies guys. I was lucky enough to get them by 1 yesterday afternoon so not too long after I usually take them. It's good to know though that there is that window as my work pattern doesn't always allow me to take them exactly the same time everyday.

Hey man I do be up at different times every morning so I take my meds between 18.30 and 19.30 every evening. I have some meds at home and in my car and in my parents house which has helped me to never miss a dose.

Is it not good to double dose?

Hi DD!

I also have fear that I may miss my pills. That is why I decided to keep always with me pills for 3 days. From one side if something happens 3 days are enough time to reach either my home or the hospital and from the other side even if I loose these pills somewhere it will not be a very big problem.
