Zakky1984 I have been on meds since 1998, then went off them for over 10 yrs but now I'm back on them for last few years! My advise is to find a system that helps u take ur meds each day or night, my regime is one tablet at night, every night, by missing doses regularly u put urself at risk of the virus becoming resistant against the meds! Forgetting a dose once in a while is ok, I do too sometimes, but more often not. Like some advise on here put a reminder in ur mobile, but again if ur out socializing u don't want ur phone beebing at u, so place it beside ur bed side locker or get a tablet case Monday to Sunday & start ur Week organised with a tablet regime organised to assist u not to forget! 😊

Good tips joey! I appreciate my meds and the guys from the 80s would love to have been in our shoes, so remembering to take meds on time is something we should all strive to do in my opinion.

I have to agree with my friends above. Adherence is the main problem for all of us at some point. However, it also risks the possibility of the drugs not working as effectively as they should - as Joey points out. It seems as though your meds are working so try to keep on top of it 😉

Hi. I've been on one a day meds for about 9 years. I have my phone alarm set for the time I take my pill every day. I still forget sometimes to take my pill and sometimes whether I've taken it or not. I read somewhere it is ok to take your dose if you remember within an eight to ten hour window. So if I catch it, then I take it. I also read it's best not to double down so I err on the side that I've taken it if I just can't recall whether I've taken it or not. Hope that helps.

I'm not just on 1 a day meds

in reply toZakky1984

I'm sorry to hear that as it does make it simpler. I imagine the 8-10 hour window and doubling down still apply. Maybe with all the new meds that have come out you and your doctor can switch you to a one a day. Adherence is key so maybe your doctor can help you out if he knows multiple pills just isn't working.

I have ups and downs with taking it. I can go religiously for 4 mobths at the same time...then i will have a week of forgetting or taking it late.

It is all about routine.

If I miss a day I have the worst headache ever when I do take it. Not nice.

Try to make it fit with your day to day routine i.e. drive to work / meal time / wake up time.

Its hard to adjust, but you'll find the right way that suits you.

Occasionally. But I don't stress too much about it.

I've missed the time I usually take them a couple of times. I usually take them at night, but sometimes get distracted and completely forget. When I do forget, it really plays on my mind and I get anxious that the meds will stop working. Sometimes it not till the next morning I take it, then I'll take another at my usual time. It's been a while since I've missed it and they're still working well. I'm on a one a day pill, but last time I went to the doc he told me that, as part of cost cutting, one of the chems in my pill will be separated, resulting in two pills. It's not a big deal personally. Is anyone else on triumeq and been informed the same?

Why would you want to risk not taking your meds on time?? I don't get it....sure the odd mistake over the years, but I'm grateful for my meds and taking them on time is the least I can do to assist my health.

I use the alarm on my phone as a reminder but yes occasionally can't remember if I've gone ahead and taken the pill or not and then having to decide whether to take one just in case. But it is very occasional and all is thankfully going very well r.e. response to medication

Always

I always take mine when I brush my teeth in the morning, sometimes if I am late waking on a weekend I take them a little later but they are designed to have a cumulative effect. I carry a pill case in case I have forgotten to take them. I've been undetectable for a fair few years now so I try not to be overly worried about it.

Everyone's metabolism is different though....
