I'm on ritonavir, duronavir and truvada. 3 pills but all taken at same time once a day. No real side effects but maybe my body is just used to them!

I took Atripla for five years, only side effect was fatigue which got too much in the end so l changed to Eplivera

It's only one pill so no diff to Atripla but this one has to be taken with food as opposed to Atripla which is with none

I get some pins and needles now which l never had before but nothing too bad....for me it was like lifting a cloud from my head-lve noticed a difference which l hope stays!

Good luck with whatever u decide

That "lifting a cloud" was just the feeling I had when I came off Atripla and on to Stribild. You really don't know how Efavirenz screw with your head until they're gone. For me it was almost like rejoining the normal world after years of kind've seeing the outside world through your own bubble!

I have suffered the same thing but only after being on Atripla for 5 years and then it came on quite rapidly.

The most likely element that could cause the neuropathy in Atripla would be the Efavirenz so you could do an easy swap to Stribild where the Efavirenz is replaced with something else.

That said, I've been told that my problems problem stem from either the combo Trizivir whichI was on for years prior to Atripla or, unfortunately, from the HIV itself. At this point in time they cannot decide which is the trigger although there is some research going on about this as it is becoming a very common thing with long term sufferers but obviously I don't know how long you've been positive and what drus, if any, you were taking before.

Hey, no probs. I hope things work out for you. Since I'm waiting for a referral back to the specialist HIV neurologist as well, we should have a competition to see who waits the longest if the NHS your way has got as bad as it is here. I had to wait over 7 months from them requesting an MRI to actually having it. Thanks Camoron

So a few bits have changed for me since l posted this....the pins and needles got quite painful and the stomach issues caused by the Eplivera increased.

So l am now on Truvada and Nevirapine which is good cos don't have to take with food.

No side effects and seems to be working well for me at last😊

Did u see a neurologist ?

I also took Atipla for years after switching from Trizivir. My Doctor also said either the meds or the hub could be responsible for the neuropathy. Also had major fatigue with Atripla. They have done labs to check resistance to other meds and we decided to try Triumeq last February. I'll know how my labs look in June.

I've been pox for 29 years now so I understand that there is little known about long term hiv infection. I am living life with less uncertainty, but aging with hiv is  still a concern to me.

It's becoming a concern with quite a lot of us my now my friend and the neuropathy is a killer, at least it certainly has been for me anyway, so painful sometimes.

I'd be really grateful if you would let me know it Triumeq help at all.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope it helps

Take care

I have noticed an improvement in fatigue, but not so much with the neuropathy. The Atripla may have also contributed to my decreased cognitive abilities. Too soon to tell if I am improving or not, but I'll keep you posted.
