About me
Hi, I'm a Bi guy in Scotland, I was diagnosed early (thankfully) in 2014, I started my meds and have tested continually as "undetectable" after the first 6 months. Like you I'm in decent health and told that there's no reason for me not to be. Mentally things can be a bit tougher but after my initial surprise and subsequent acceptance I have managed to avoid much of mental turmoil. I have always looked ahead in a positive (no pun intended) way and live a normal life.
Hi Tyrion & Hussler101,
That's great to hear. I too am in good physical health after being diagnosed 10 years ago (although have a few mental health issues). There are some illnesses and diseases that are more prevalent in people living with HIV, which affect them in later life. By looking after yourself with exercise, diet, healthy living etc. you can expect a long and healthy life. I subscribe to a newsletter from aidsmap.com which gives information about the latest updates and research regarding HIV in general and specific health issues affecting us. I like to keep up-to-date with these advancements and information for my own benefit. If you're interested, you can subscribe to their email newsletter.
