Hello, recently found out my partner is positive. Ever since I have had this feeling he's holding back from how we used to be, I don't know if anyone could advise me on how I could reassure him that I'm here to stay and not leaving bcoz of his status. Also i would like to know if we can have unprotected sex as he is undetectable
Thank you

Hello.
I.wouldn't advise unprotected sex. It's a risk only u can decide. Unprotected sex isn't a way to show ur partner you don't care about him having HIV.
Im positve as well at first IM very afraid to inform my partner because I dont want him to leave me I dont want him to get mad at me I dont want to loose him but suddenly he caught me taking my meds when Im at work he called me and asked for my condition I tried to hide but suddenly he confronted me about my status still I denied but then he cried and told me why youre keeping your status alone cant you trust dont you believed that I really loved you those words came from his sweet lips and I was shocked about it and he hugged me very thight and he touched my face saying that Im here for you as your partner, I will never ever leave you but instead I will always love you no matter what happen. . .at that point we cried together and promise to love each other. . . and now he showed his full support and guidance he always there for me he accompanied me everytime we visited my Doctors he always reminded me on time about taking my meds and he always observing if what food Im eating. . He is taking care of me until now and our relationship is getting better stronger and forever. . I advise just show to him that youre there for him that your not just his partner but a peer and family to him, keep on inspiring him and more positive words just to feel that he deserves and you deserves to be a partner.

I agree with sumeleng, you just have to be honest and direct. Tell him you feel he's been a bit distant but that you want to be there for him. I also wouldn't advise on having unsafe sex, but only you and your partner can make that decision together. Your partner is feeling lots of changes too and is probably worried about how you feel, and probably feels a bit guilty for that. Talk, be open, be honest. Good luck!!
