Hello. I was diagonized some years back and not on medication. I am really ashamed of seeing a gp and don't know how to get access to treatment. Please i need advice on what to do .

Hello Maureen, its good to have you here . In my experience ,a HIV diagnosis can bring up feelings of shame , guilt, anger, etc however it is very important to know that HIV is a virus, it does not define us. We are still who we are,valuable individuals. Welldone for having the courage to come here and share . I found talking to other people living with HIV very useful.I am not sure how things work in Australia. There are some websites here in the UK that may provide you with some information you may still find useful (some of it though is only relevant if you are in the UK) nat.org.uk/ and i-base.info/. If it is okay by you, please let me know how it goes

You shouldn't be ashamed to see your Gp is matter of life or death that is what they are there for or You should go to the place where you were diagonized, they will put you through treatment. I was diagonized 11 years ago went on treatment 3 years ago, i wish i went on treatment earlier.

Please don't leave it too late.
