Meds no longer helping

Diagnosed April 2023. Put on 180mg diltiazem daily which mostly worked. That no longer works. Upped the meds to 180mg diltiazem twice a day. After almost 3 weeks on it it works sometimes, getting attacks every 5 to 7 days. Sucks! Scheduled for an ablation but not until February and it’s freakin October! On a wait list to get it sooner. Praying for all of you with this dreadful thing!’

Hi. When you say the Diltiazem no longer works, with relation to what? It will only control your heart rate not stop AF attacks. I think 360mg per day is the max dosage so if your heart rate is not controlled with that, you need to speak to your EP.
