Stopping Meds

Hi all

I have been taking Flecainide and Bisoprolol for the last couple of years since having repeated episodes of PAF, I was very overweight with a BMI of 46.

I went on a bit of a weight loss kick in January 2020 and have now lost over 8.5 stone. To say my cardiologist was pleased with me is an understatement.

As of today, I have been AF free for just over six months and have stopped all my meds today under the guidance of the cardiologist. Fingers crossed that I have done enough to ease the burden on my heart.

My fitness is now the best it has been for over 25 years, so much so I’m doing the Macmillan Mighty Hike in September along the Jurassic Coast in memory of my sister!

If you are interested, I have created a little video of my story on my fundraising page here: justgiving.com/fundraising/...
