anyone ever have a cardiac arrest during an episode of atrial fibrillation? Does anyone have an ICD? Just looking for others like me to help me not feel so alone in this.

Hello, yes I had a cardiac arrest just over seven years ago and am alive because my husband did CPR while waiting for an ambulance and because of prompt and excellent medical care. I now have an ICD and take rather a lot of medication. I am well and live a good life and am constantly grateful to be so fortunate. Content to reassure you that you aren’t alone. pjr

Hi,I’m 34 and just had mine implanted 3 weeks ago. It was a big decision to make but I have no regrets. I get a lot of NSVTs, particularly during sleep and have found that I no longer worry about those as I know my ICD will be there if they progress to become SVTs. I’m slowly learning to sleep again on my left hand side but have seen progress each week.
