Why do I feel a heartbeat in my throat when I gulp cold water fast?

I've beennoticing that once in a while when I gulp down water very fast

after a meal(like cold water) I get one ectopic beat. Like I can feel it in my throat.

I'm on those days extremely exhausted from lack of sleep.

Could it be that? Could it be that my vagus nerve is super sensitive due to lack of sleep and also dehydration that the large volume of water agitates it and maybe it's inflamed due to anxiety/stress and so the water excited it and that excited the heart.

It only happens with cold water, never with food or solid stuff

Thanks.

You are triggering a vaso vagal reflex by stimulating your vagus nerve. The nerve controls heart rate, breathing and your digestive system. There are many things that can stimulate it if you are that way inclined. A large meal, very cold water (drinking it or splashing it on your face) straining on the toilet etc.
