I take Metoprolol tartrate, don't know how that differs to the one you take.

First meds I was prescribed for arrhythmias @ the beginning of my heart journey.

Also prescribed for high blood pressure in some people, so it can also lower BP and slow heart rate.

After finally getting my dosage correct, and only occasionally swaying by a few mg. (depending on how I felt), best medicine for me personally besides Sotalol I also take.

Between these two meds, some lifestyle changes, and my defibrillator, I am managing my condition (along with the AFib that came later) quite well.

Wishing for you the same! 😀

Yes, I take the tartrate version. I believe yours is extended release so just small amounts entering your bloodstream at a time. Tartrate is just all at once then it wears off about 6 hrs later so most people take 2-3 times/day. The type prescribed depends on what it's prescribed for. What are you taking yours for?

I take metoprolol succinate 25mg for the same reason. It’s the first beta blocker I’ve used and I can’t go any higher as my resting is already about 50 on it. Seems to help a lot though.
