Does a loop recorder pick up any rhythm abnormalities or does it get programmed to pick up certain ones?

Loop recorder
I had a loop recorder and my understanding is it picks up any abnormal arrhythmias, even benign. It's just like an EKG. Here's a good article that might help: hopkinsmedicine.org/health/...
Hi I have just had one put in about a month ago. I think it picks up all things
I have had a svt at start of December which the centre phoned me about the next day. I can push record on an app on phone when I am having any events.
I have had the loop recorder for about a year now and everything will depend on your doctor and the settings they programmed specifically for you. There are some default settings but many doctors will adjust them. And just know as time goes on and they start receiving your tracings they may also change the settings as you go, that’s normal. Just for your own benefit and understanding It will help to find out what the settings are, when and how often they want you to manually upload, what they want you to record on your own, if and when you need to contact them for specific things, what information they get nightly, and anything else they feel you should know. As time goes on you will probably have more to discuss with them. Every office handles this machine a little differently so make sure to ask questions. Some doctors are also more versed on it than others so you may not get all these answered.
Now back to the original question. Yes, there will always be events that get automatically triggered and recorded IF they meet the perimeters set otherwise it’s up to you to use your patient assist (the little controller you hold up to your chest) to record your symptoms. Also know if you use the patient assist it will only hold three “marks” before it records over the oldest one- medtronic did tell me the machine knows to proritize events though, also the implant will only hold so much information but your doctors office will keep track of that as well.
Medtronic has been extremely helpful as well (I’m a serious question asker
Lol ) so don’t be afraid to call them either. Their contact info is in your booklet that came with your base.
Good luck! I’m here if you need anything else!
