PACs anxiety

Hi so I suffer with ectopic beats mainly PACs I have tried a beta blocker in the past but didn’t make much difference to my symptoms. I’ve just got results back from my latest 24 hour tape and have 3416 PACs that feels like a lot and I’m now worried. I’m going to speak to a cardiologist tomorrow but just wondering if anyone else has experience of PACs? am I overreacting? Also to say my echo on the whole was normal

Have you tried Magnesium Taurate? It worked for me and lots of others - have a look at Dr Sanjay Gupta's videos on Youtube about it. Good luck.

There is a breathing exercise that can help. Again, see DrSanjay Gupta in York, Uk (not the American one)

my heart went up to 240 beats two occasions before xmas (svt) i had adenosine to stop it.

i then started suffering from panic attacks where my heart would race to 140. I took some zanex to help the anxiety when i was on my own i would start to worry that it was going to go up to 240 again which get like i was dying.

i started to calm down and relax and zanex helped and since i have over come my anxiety everything has stopped. seen my cardiologist who is happy to let me go he thinks it was all stress and diet induced my diet was poor and was over working.

the beta blockers and medicine they gave me after second attack made me feel worse and increased anxiety.

are u an anxious person? or have you experienced any trauma that could be playing on this even the worry of something wrong with your heart. try and relax and not worry my echo was clear as well.

sorry if this isn’t of any help.

Thanks all I have spoken to the cardiologist who advised that all is ok and he is not concerned doesn’t think I need drugs and need to just try ignore them. I think I just panicked last night. Need to do some more mindfulness I think. I’m feeling more reassured today

Hi you have PAC's - I have PVC's. PAC's occur in the atrium, PVC's in the ventricle. Imagine 3 normal heartbeats 1......2.......3 with even spaces between them. What we get with premature contractions is 1.2..........3.

Beat number 2 is coming from a different part of the heart and is so close to beat 1 the heart hasn't filled yet so it doesn't pump much blood, meaning you won't feel it. But in the period between 2 and 3 the heart fills right up and gives an extra powerful beat to pump the extra blood out. This is what we feel and is so uncomfortable. I have had PVC's for 45 years and am still alive and otherwise well but I still don't like them. When I get strings of them I often get some relief from taking an antacid called Gaviscon, or chewing a lump of beef, or even having a really big drink of water..
