Scared about ARVC

Hi, new here. I had a half brother die suddenly from ARVC aged 32 almost a decade ago, when I found out (I didn't have any dealing with him) I thought nothing much of it as I had Anxiety problems around that time and had multiple ECG's, chest X-rays and a 24 hour ECG at the time which didn't pick up anything concerning.

Ten years later and its dawned on me that i've not really had proper tests for ARVC, the anxiety has got the better of me and I went to the local ED with palpitations, ECG and chest X-ray were clear, though I mentioned the ARVC risk and i've been referred for a Echocardiogram and 24 hour ECG.

I'm terrified I could just drop dead at any moment as i'm now 32 also, despite having no history of fainting/lightheadedness or other alarming symptoms.

I am very sorry you have had no replies.

I can't help you with ARVC but you may find this HealthUnlocked thread helpful:

I have heard of this condition but it is different than the AVNRT or SVT which is what I have. I can talk about anxiety because I struggle with that. What I can tell you is obviously you need to get your tests done. You do need those answers. I can also tell you that you need to find a way to be at peace with your life as crazy as it can get, you need to find a way to breath easy. So keep on your doctors for answers and also do not be afraid to get guidance from a therapist. They understand the medical field and have great contacts. They can help you in many ways. Good luck to you!
