Svt and ectopics
Hope that the ablation works for you Delythn and Barts hospital has a very good reputation.
Best wishes for good health
Jean
Thankyou! The electrophysiologist stopped my Bisoprolol because it dropped my blood pressure and heart too low. I have good days like yesterday when I felt normal, today I feel tired and pressure in my chest. I wished yesterday could have gone on forever but of course it doesn’t, never know how I will feel when I wake up the next day. I shadow you all several times a day it helps to know there are others in the same boat,
I will be going to Barts hospital on the 29th for my ablation. I am very nervous. Thanks for your good wishes.
I've had three ablations and I can honestly say there isn't a lot to them, so don't worry, and you won't be aware of anything. Are you having a general anaesthetic or sedation?
Jean
Thanks for your reassurance. They didn,t tell me at the pre assessment what I would be having, last year I broke my ankle and had a general anaesthetic, when I woke up my heart was in Svt. I live alone and hope I can be self reliant as all my family work long hours.
I hope all god well for you Delythn. I too have been experiencing ectopic beats and arrhythmia a lasting hours for nearly 30 years. Have had all tests done but no diagnosis. I am in late 60s now, on my own and do not want to be dependent on family. This group is a great comfort as you don't feel so on your own. Good luck
Thanks for your reply. I have had ectopics and short runs of svt for many years, it was brought to their attention 18 months ago when I was at my uncles funeral in Wales , 197 beats a minute. I have had further short runs and 4 episodes that had to be put back in hospital. I also don,t want to bother my children but it is frightening sometimes when the heart kicks off, I have ectopics every day, sometimes I don,t notice them as much other days they make me feel tired and lethargic.43 years I have had these but managed to work and bring up 3 children.
I had never heard of SVT so googled it and it describes my symptoms exactly. I had 2 cups of caffeine this morning (trying to cut out but hard as only caffeine i have) and have just had the rapid heartbeat felt on right side of neck when bending down. Thankfully after deep breaths (some kind of vagal maneuver according to doc which you probably do) it stopped after just a couple of minutes. I too have worked dull time and brought up family on own but my heart never more than around 105 so not as severe as yours. According to doctor nothing to worry about which is easy for him to say.
Mine got worse as I got older, the short runs were awful though, I didn,t know what they were and frightened me because I felt as if I was going to die, the big attack in February wouldn,t stop so I had to go to hospital, they tried all the usual things to stop it and tried adenisone 3 times but it wouldn,t go back, they put a beta blocker into the drip and it gradually went down.
