Hi everyone, newbie here! My daughter (aged 15) has just been diagnosed with Ventricular Tachycardia and just wondered if there are any other parents here in a similar situation? Having a bit of a hard time understanding all this - would be grateful for any advice any of you can offer - thank you x

Hi there, my daughter also has svt and was diagnosed 3 years ago. She is on atenolol solution 10mg perday. Her symptoms can occur any time any place and in any situation. It can happenar rest in bed or most often when shes doing some form of exercise. Im sure stress of school is alsi a contribute. She is now 14 and manages quite well but being a mother has a huge impact on my mental wellbeing! I constantly wonder when the next episode will take place. I am fortunate that 9 times out of 10 she can bring her own heart rate down by sitting high and bending right over and straining untilvshe can feel it slow. She has had to have ut slowed down by injection at rhe hospital 3 times since diagnosis. I don't visit this sight as much as i used to but i did find it a huge comfort initially to know theres other people in the same position. Its hard to put on a brave face but that's all you can do but remember it is not a life threatening illness. Good luck x
