I have been to many of a doctor and cardiologist because of my fast heart rate..palpations and flutters. had ecgs....stress test...bloods....echo....24hr monitor...all clear.

My heart rate is always very fast in the morning 130-140bpm when walking around and making breakfast....will settle when I rest about 80-90bpm. This increase in hr can also happen after a eat certain foods.

However now am experience odd days where my hr is dropping e.g. 50bpm when watch TV...why the sudden drop. Some days it's goes really fast and others it's so slow...should I see my gp again because of the change

I had very similar but as low as 30BPM and then bouts of Tachycardia woke on occasion with a pulse of over 180 BPM. Are you an ex athlete?? In particular a cyclist or Rower? Have you put on weight stopped any physical exercise at all? Given up smoking etc. These are all factors I think may have contributed to my condition.

The High pulse could be Tachycardia or just that your fitness is lacking! Both fixable

The problem is that for the High pulse there are Beta blockers but they could take the low pulse bouts to dangerously low levels!

I had a lifestyle change, lost weight started walking with pace about an hour a day sometimes longer on the nice days. I now run but that's just because I like to. I ate healthy and steadily lost 2 stone. The low bouts were then few and far between and could be fixed with a forced cough or two. The Tachycardia had to be fixed but post ablation now 18 months free of an episode. I had a job convincing the Dr's and Cardiologist about the extreme ends of the upper and Lowe scale so got a heart monitor which connected to an app on my phone and kept a record to take with me as a diary with a visual reading as screenshots on my phone. Soon in for a very successful 1st ablation

Good luck with it all I know your thinking pacemaker but there is a permanent fix if you work for it and convince the consultants

Have you been given a diagnosis at all? Sounds pretty similar to Tachy-Brady Syndrome. Try googling that and see if it fits your situation. It's a problem with the electrical system within your heart. Another condition is Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia- google that one too. Then mention these two possibilities to your physician at your next visit. Maybe you would benefit from a monitor that goes longer than 24 hours in order to catch the problem. Hope you get a definitive diagnosis soon.

Hiya, i do hope you find out what is causing your troubling symptoms. Might be worth doing a food and drink diary to see if there are triggers you can log to see if there is a pattern. I've just done a 30 day diary and was asked to do a FODMAP diet to see if eliminating certain foods helped (+ having heavy salt & water intake - though please don't do this as that part is in case i have PoTS as it can help) but i still have symptoms so not sure what is next for me got more tests to undergo! I must admit i am not knowledgeable on what you're experiencing. I would wonder if the specialists you are under would let you do a longer holter monitor than 24 hours to catch the readings when you have issues? I have also been asked to record my blood pressure, i wonder if that would be helpful for you incase the heart rate dipping or increasing causes issues with your blood pressure too? My blood pressure seems to be very inconsistant as well as my heart rate being a bit mad at times. If you record your heart rate readings for a period of time in a diary that could be useful as well and noting what time of day when things happen and if you were stressed, exercising, relaxing or whatever when things happen. Good luck - what i have said may not be applicable to you but i just felt compelled to write back and wish you well x
