Theres no need to worry about your ablation. In 1993 i had it done for svt and it cured me completely. No after side effects from the procedure and the best thing i didnt have to take any more medications for it. It is a very common procedure nowadays. Good luck to you and you will be relieved after its done. Im happy for you that this will cure your svt!!! Hugs to you

Hi Darren. Sorry to read u suffer from severe anxiety, my wife is in the same boat so I know how that feels. How bad is ur SVT?

I get it due to my Wolf Parkinson White syndrome with HR's of 220 daily lasting up to an hour and was told I need an ablation. I change my diet, dropped all caffeine and exercise 5 times a week. Now I get 1 every 2-3 weeks last maybe 20 seconds. Ablations are very common and the doctors claim a 95% success rate. So most work but reading on here and other forums some do need another 1 or 2 but that is rare in comparison to the many that take place. I hopersonally it goes well for u. Stay strong and positive.

I have had 3 due to a complicated case. Don't worry I think it is very unusual to need more that one! As it is keyhole it is a very fast recovery- in fact 2 out of 3 times I was able to go home that night! I have always been under general anaesthetic but it can be done with local meaning the surgery is even less risky. Although it is technically heart surgery it is quite a common procedure and is nothing to worry about. Just make the best of it and make sure you have some time off to recover! Good Luck, you will be fine.

Don't worry I had svt , has ablation when I was 18. Actually had been suffering since age of 15 but being young hadn't ever though much about it hearing palpations where normal . In hindsight I should of told my parents as it would last for days and was constant for years only reason I ever did was because one day it was horrific.

I was on beta blockers which didn't work but after having the ablation, which I was in and out same day, I have never had a problem since 8 years on!!!

Haven't seen you around for ages. Wondered how you were getting on when looking at some unread messages a couple of weeks ago.

How's work (as well as you).
