I'm in CCU

I failed an ETT yesterday due to double and triplet VTs, I am fearful as I don't know what is happening or what will happen. What is pain, what is anxiety and what is symptomatic of my condition. I am bewildered and I'm not normally like this. How do I explain this to my family,

The ward staff are usually happy to talk things through if you give consent

The ward staff have been brilliant, it didn't help that it was a public holiday weekend so no resident medics just the on cover team seeing the sickest. Full swing today, I'll let you know.

I have a slot for an angio booked today or tomorrow so I'm told.

Had angio, it was clear, no defects, no narrowing, no heart disease, obviously delighted but no nearer to why the arythmias occurred.

However, I am hoping other investigation can happen as an outpatient. Will know after ward round this morning.

It's been 2 weeks out of hospital, still very anxious, extremely tired, racing pulse all the time, peaking at 115 bpm, at rest, are the palpitations SVT, I have no idea. Back to work on half days next week and travelling should be fun. 24hr holter in 4wks or so, then hopefully more news.
