Mine seem to wake me in the middle of the night and last for hours, after an episode of this my chest feels as though its been thumped several times, quite scary at times.

Does anyone else's palpitations hurt?
Yes, I get the same thing! I take propranolol for my tachycardia, palpitations and hypertension. It seemed to get rid of every symptom in the first few days, but now the palpitations are back and I'm not sure what to do!
I used to get that when I drank alcohol, always 2-3 a.m., so I went tee-total. Also, it's common to get relief from this if you lie on your right. This may not help but it works for me and others.
Hope you get it sorted.

I suffer from VT and am still symptomatic after 4 years. For me, yes.. sometimes my big thumps really do hurt - they hurt my throat too. I have mentioned it to my Cardiologist but had not definitive answer as to WHY they hurt!! I assume from the lack of advice from my Cardiologist, that it's not unusual for them to hurt - otherwise I'm sure he would've made a point of saying so! It has never lasted for hours with me though.. just while the thumps are happening.
I don't drink alcohol at all - I was told not too when my VT was diagnosed.
I would always say that if you are worried, visit your GP and get it checked out.
