Can I complete Ramadan as normal with Arrhythmia.
Salam Mari
The best one to ask him this question will be your doctor since I'm not aware of your medical condition , in my case i feel a lot better during Ramadan , less triggers for Irrethemia , just you need to adjust your timing for the sotalol in line with fasting time , you may need less dose
I advise you not to eat big meals at Iftar and try to eat few small meals and drink enough water at night to avoid dehydration
In case your doctor didn't allow you to fast don't do so , god gave us permission in case of illness as you are aware
All the best
Maitha
Thank you.
Hi Marie what great question, actually I was going to suggest Maitha to you as I know her from another forum and also that she is Muslim, so really glad she has answered you with an Islamic slant.
What I would say, as a non Muslim, is that you need to listen to your body and it will tell you in general the big meals will not help, which I know are traditional at the break of the fast and you may struggle with the hydration problem during the day.
If Maitha had not given you an answer from a more religious perspective I would have said, try the fasting but keep the meals smaller than usual at the end and beginning of each day, but perhaps break the fast by taking water during the day. If your body complains, then you will probably need to come off the fast and go back to regular meals for the sake of your health.
Also please talk to your doctor about it, I am sure they have come across this before.
Be well and best wishes
Ian
Thank you Lan.
Actually it is not good at all to have big meals (even for healthy people ) in Ramadan even most of us do so , Islam advised us to break our fast gradually , also sick Muslims are allowed to quit fasting in case it effect their health
I never had episoids during my fasting but I had few due to big meals when breaking the fast ( I forgot myself and eat quickly lol ) , big meals is major trigger for me .

This surely a religious question rather than a medical one?
Every one makes their own choice as to how they interpret their beliefs into their physical world.
