Hiya, I am not looking for a diagnosis and i understand that’s not what this forum is for, however I recorded this on my Apple Watch today has anyone experienced similar? I bent over to pick something up and felt the palpitations so decided to record them.
Also has anyone showed their cardiologist results from their Apple Watch before or from other devices? As I know they aren’t the most reliable things out there so I’m just a bit reluctant.
Guess that depends on what your situation is? Have they already checked out your heart and deemed it healthy? Are you still in the process of looking for SVT or other arrhythmia? To me, it looks like you had some individual PACs plus that middle strip had a run of 11 or so in a row at a pretty fast rate. None of that is cause for concern in a healthy heart (depending on you situation) but if you are needing to gather evidence of arrhythmia, I'd say it's worth calling in and maybe emailing to the nurses so your cardiologist has it on record.
Thanks for your reply! I suffer from IST which is somewhat being controlled with 2.5mg bisoprolol and 5mg X2 Ivabradine I’ve been having drops in my HR to 37 but struggle with exercise as it increases too quickly ( recorded on 24 hour ecg ). I’ve not seen my cardiologist since June as he has been off sick which is understandable. However I had a letter 3 months ago saying they wanted to see me in 6 weeks but I have heard nothing since then and have been back to my GP with new symptoms various times. She’s been amazing and keeps sending letters to cardiology however she’s had no response. I have these episodes of pre-syncope every couple months which haven’t been caught on an ecg, so my GP is suggesting a loop recorder however I’ve not heard anything from cardiology since the last letter they sent. So everything is a bit up in the air at the moment ~ sorry for the long reply! the next time i see my GP I will show her the recordings, thank you 🙂
Well I suffer from the same thing, so that's ironic! Anyway, I totally understand how hard it is to get a response from the doctor. I went through that for several years with my electrophysiologist. Right now I'm doing decent enough on my meds so I only see him every year.
I too have some weird presyncope episodes which I believe could only be either my heart rate going too slow or a sudden drop in blood pressure, or maybe a combo, but until I pass out, I guess I'm fine because, like you, it's just a hassle to be seen and then there's no evidence anyway.
I think saving your strips and showing your GP is fine. She will probably at least send them to the cardiologist. Though if you have IST, could be that bending over then standing caused the intermittent fast beats. Crouching, bending, excitement etc., as you know, are not so fun with IST. Though with those meds you'd think most of that would be tempered down.
Anyway, best of luck to you! IST is definitely a not-so-fun thing to live with.
It’s such a horrible condition to have!! I think my funny episodes are due to low HR but we shall soon find out, I stayed low to the floor during this episode of PACs and waited it out just in case I stood up too quickly.
It’s also not fun being on these heart meds for a long period of time I’m 19 so I pray there some type of research going into the condition and hopefully one day there will be treatment which actually helps!
Thank you for you’re responses and I hope your IST stays managed!
Yeah, that's tough to deal with at 19. I think I've had mine infrequently throughout my life, but it became very apparent at 38. It's like my body hit crisis point or something and that's when I ended up in the ER and they realized something wasn't right. I think at 35, when I had a surgery, it kicked some of it into overdrive for a time and I lost a bunch of weight but didn't really notice because I had 2 small children and was busy. Thought I was just stressed and felt awful all the time.
Anyway, hope yours just somehow lessens or maybe it will turn out to be an atrial tachycardia that they can ablate. Fingers crossed for you and keep us posted : ).
