Hi I am 70 year old lady with moderate AS and bi cuspid valve.

I can’t bear the thought of open heart surgery and wondered how they decide if you are suitable for TAVI

How has anyone’s experience of this procedure been ?

Thanks

I am also 70 and female, I had the TAVI in August last year, it was more painful than I thought it would be during the procedure. Afterwards was fine home in 2 days and recovery fairly straightforward. I wanted open heart but as I also had lung cancer they decided to go the quick route.

Thank you, all good now it was a rough year, but cancer has gone, heart is fixed, type 2 diabetes sent into remission; so now I have to get fitter. Good luck with whichever surgery you have , stand your ground do some research and keep your voice, you have to give informed consent.
